Morning work or morning bins?

Do you prefer to start your first-grade school day with seatwork or morning bins? Engaging morning bins can be a great way to begin the day in a low-key way. It lets students enjoy some socialization and fun and gives you a chance to take care of all the morning tasks that need completed.

Well planned morning bins can also help you achieve some learning targets or review standards at the same time! I’m a big believer in accountability- so many of these activities still have something for students to turn-in.

In this post, I’ll share ten math morning bins that are perfect for the month of January. I hope these activities will give your first graders a great start to their day. Don’t use morning bins? They also make great math centers or activities for your early finishers.
