Hi! I'm Jaymie!

I spent 17 years in the classroom. I taught 12 years of first grade, 1 year Pre-K, and 4 years of reading intervention and coaching. I have a master’s degree as a reading specialist, and love all things phonics!

My heart has always belonged to first grade! I love emergent readers and seeing their eyes light up when they learn something new or make a connection. I believe first-grade is one of the most demanding, but also one of the most rewarding grades!

I have a passion for creating rigorous, easy to use resources that require little or no prep! I know how demanding teaching is and how important it is to prioritize our families and our personal well-being. I am blessed to now be a full-time teacher-author. 

I have an amazing husband of 27 years who is also a teacher. He now teaches reading intervention after spending over two decades in second grade. I have two children in their twenties, one in college and one who learned a trade.

In my free time I enjoy reading, especially historical fiction and a good rom-com. I also love a good coffee, hiking with my husband, going to Jazzercise, and volunteering at my church!
